AGE GROUP SWIMMERS
Last year, I felt I was a ‘loser’ and wanted to quit, but decided to give it another shot. My 5 days with you changed my outlook - I look at swimming differently focussing on hips, rhythm and technique. It was an amazing experience and I feel that I am already a better, more positive swimmer.
PS. I have just taken 13 seconds off my 100 Fly PB.

I am writing to say a very big thank you for my time with you in Spain. I learnt more techniques, skills and information about swimming with you in 1 week than with my coach for the last 3 years. You are so amazing changing me in just 1 week. You are a very high quality and absolutely professional coach and just how a coach should be. I would recommend this to anyone else who is interested in swimming and improving their skills.

Thought I'd update you on my swimming - managed a 2 second pb on my 100 breast. 1.09.14 - so pretty fast I'd say ! And then managed to pb on my 50 as well, 31.82. - all down to your coaching I'd say. Has been a considerable change to my breaststroke and I've managed to keep in mind what you have taught me. Thank you.

Just a small note to say thank you. Greg and Jamie both thoroughly
enjoyed the swim-camp. You made a big impression on both of them and
they are following your core beliefs about stroke technique in every
session they do now. I can see quite a difference already. We will keep
in touch and let you know how they both get on when the new season
starts.
Latest: Just updating you on Greg and Jamie's first competition of the season.
Greg swam in six events, with heats and finals in each, 12 swims in
total. He achieved 2 golds, a silver and a bronze, pb'ing in all of
them! Jamie swam in two events and pbd on both.

J’s confidence was at an all time low when you met us - when we got home he was on top of the world and put in to practice all the new skills you had shown him. In his first two competitions got his 50,200,400,800,1500 Freestyle and his 200IM qualifying times. His swimming is out-standing at the moment and he is very happy.

Training with you was great, just the way you coach and explain things is amazing. I will always remember to use my hips.

Thanks very much for all your help and kindness during the week. The kids really enjoyed it and are delighted with the progress that they made and have put into practice what you have told them. N is really looking forward to competing again which is a good sign.

Two 800m pbs in two days; 7 second 100 fly and 7 second100 free pb, applying your techniques (his own words). I keep reminding him to use his hips and the other bits I remember from the swim clinic, but he is applying it without my asking. I hope we can visit again soon.

I'm pleased to say that the week they had with you has paid off in bucketfulls. They have improved their PB's on every stroke with Meghan holding the record for most improvement, 12 seconds on her 100 breaststroke. Not only have their times improved but they are now taking a real interest in the preparation and more technical aspects of the race and you can see a clear focus now during their swim training. We all really enjoyed the week we had with you. Your approach really engaged the kids, they were always keen to turn up, really liking your style. Your step by step approach was very clear to them, and us !! The facilities were excellent..

I had an extremely relaxing stay at Casa Granado. The twin room was spacious, comfortable and well
furnished. Friendly restaurants can be found within nearby villages, along with a few shops. Pool
facilities are excellent, providing ideal training conditions. Paul is a superb coach and provided one to
one coaching concentrating on the key aspects of my strokes to greatly improve my technique. After training
I could relax on poolside and enjoy the clear blue sky and fantastic views. I hope to return soon.

A few months before, I noticed my technique was getting worse and I was finding my stroke count
increasing the faster I tried to go. My friend and I went to Granada fort a long weekend to sort out our
technique. All my strokes were fine-tuned and by encouraging me to swim long and use my hips more, I ended up
faster in the pool whilst keeping the same stroke count. When I got back I felt more valiant, led in my lane
and the next gala I had PBs in every race. I felt relaxed in my distances and I saw the result of effective
coaching.

MASTERS SWIMMERS
The coaching was structured and tailored to my needs. I have just participated in the Master's Nationals and managed PBs in all 5 events ranging from a 4.6 sec in my 100m free to 0.6sec in my 50m back - that should have been at least 2 secs. - but I failed to follow your start coaching tips. At 55 years old I was anticipating a slow decline but am now looking forward to gradual improvements as I develop my strokes.

Paul gave me great, one-on-one coaching in his wonderful outdoor pool in the midst of the olive
groves in sunny Spain. For each session he was well prepared, offering a custom-designed plan to work on
stroke technique for my particular level, with the second workout building on the first. It was such a treat
to have had the opportunity to work with him and visit Spain too!

SWIM IMPROVEMENT
'I had wanted to learn to swim for a long time so when a friend recommended SwimSpain I booked 5 days with Paul - what a great decision! I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and came away with a decent swimming stroke and confidence in the water. I can't recommend SwimSpaim highly enough.'
RD, London Swim improvement
I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for instilling
confidence in this struggling swimmer. Upon my return home from
Spain, I began private lessons at our local community pool. I am
proud to say that I am able to swim laps using the freestyle stroke.
Now I'm working on the backstroke. The best part is that I love/
enjoy swimming. You can find me at the pool 5 days/week, rain or shine.

I was eight when I managed a length of panic-stricken, doggy-paddle. In the 40 odd years that followed, I progressed only slightly in regard to technique just about managing a length of crawl, often reverting to swimming on my back, to avoid the recognition that I had neither the breath nor the strength to continue with my initial stroke. That was until I discovered Swim Spain. I came away, if not the finished article, certainly with the tools and confidence to become a competent, relaxed front-crawl swimmer. I made more progress in four days than had been achieved in the previous four decades.

I had been a sink-or-swimmer for so long & always really enjoyed being in the water but increasingly was enjoying swimming less & less. Paul taught myself & my sister over 7 days, identifying our strengths & building on them - by the time we left, my breaststroke had improved beyond recognition and my sister was looking very slick with both front crawl & backstroke. We very much appreciated Paul's style - without patronising us, he was able to explain in simple terms the changes he could see we needed to make. It made our brief stay a really worthwhile break from busy lives - I'd definitely recommend it; we'll both be returning asap

TRIATHLETES
Thanks again for your guidance and patience last week - It was tough at times but I felt I made some good progress which should stick.....I will review your notes and use them to put together a pool program which should keep me going in the right direction
PF (Triathletes),London, UK
We both took away so much from your coaching and will try our hardest to keep to keep up the good work that you have started with on. I'm dying to get to the pool tomorrow morning and get working on my drills.

We visited SwimSpain for a week’s technique training - it was demanding (2 x 1.5 hr sessions daily). However the effort was well worth it with coaching tailored to our needs encompassing drills and endurance development. Our swimming improved considerably plus we had the opportunity to bike around beautiful countryside on great roads and hills.

I hadn't swum for some 10 years and I had started to do triathlons. I knew that my stroke wasn't as
good as it should be to compete at a good level. So I took a weekend course - and wished that I'd had that
sort of technique-driven coaching when I was an age-group swimmer.
